Shaun White Drops Out, Mark McMorris Blazes New Ground

Mark McMorris lands first backside triple cork 1440


Snowboarder Mark McMorris, from Regina, Canada and riding for Max Henault's O'Neill Snowboard Team, has landed the first-ever backside triple cork 1440 at a TransWorld Snowboarding shoot, called "The Park Session," at Snowmass, Colo., on March 2, according to ESPN.com. 


Leading the progession in spins besides McMorris are Sebastien Toutant, also riding for O'Neill. Torstein Horgmo, and Sage Kotsenberg are pushing spin progression bigtime as well as Kevin Jones, laying it down in the backcountry. Click these links to see interviews.





Shaun White Drops OUT of U.S. Open 2011

ESPN March 7, 2011 Two-time Olympic gold medal winner Shaun White will not compete at the U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships in Stratton, VT., this week, because he requires foot surgery.
